Olympus unveils u790SW digital camera

Olympus has a spanking new digital camera in the form of the u790SW. The features associated with the u790SW can be found in most digital cameras these days, ranging from the 7 megapixel sensor with 3x zoom, ISO 80/1600, TruePic III technology, and 15MB of internal memory. True to form, this Olympus offering uses xD memory cards. One feature that would make me pick the u790SW over other digital cameras would be its waterproof capability - although scuba diving fans will have to give this a miss since anything deeper than 3 meters will result in disaster. The Olympus u790SW measures 93.6mm x 60.9mm x 21.3mm and weighs 136g. Love the bright summer colors that it comes in though.

Just returned my sons U770SW after its second failure. First repair took about 3 weeks, and it only lasted a couple of weeks after that. Now we've been offered this one, but it's lower spec. in water depth, megapixels, and internal memory.
We're just going to get our money back.

Just bought this to save me taking my digital SLR on holiday. Bought in Black a classy looking little machine. Did not even have to read the handbook all buttons etc clearly defined. Doing the Caribbean so I wanted the waterproof/sandproof facility. Taken a few sample picture of the town centre - excellent. Had to purchase an XD card 2GB at £41.00 - over 1100 pictures. (High Quality) The scene selection facility is fantastic - really idiot proof so there are no excuses for failures. Compact and light. The zoom lens sits in the camera behind the waterproof casing. In all a good buy at £199.99 (Devon Camera Exchange)
