Xenith X1 smart helmet
Posted on Oct 29, 07 06:14 PM PDT

The Xenith X1 smart helmet comes with shock absorbing discs that are able to release air upon impact, where the amount and speed are variable depending on the severity of the impact. This works much better than traditional foam inserts that perform just the same in any situation. The Xenith X1 features a flexible, vented casing embedded with specialized shock absorbers that aim to decrease potential damage to the head and brain of football players. I wonder if such technology ought to be ported over to the NHL as well.
