[Mobile World Congress] I published a few hours ago about the Open Screen Project, this industry-wide initiative launched in May 2008 by Adobe to promote a seamless browsing experience for Flash-based applications (web and standalone) across all screens. Today, Palm is joining the 20+ partners of the Open Screen Project, and, according to Adobe, it will “help deliver the Adobe Flash Player for smartphones on the new Palm webOS platform”. The iPhone does not support Flash yet, so this announcement is particularly interesting since the Flash Player 10 for Smartphones is expected for the end of 2009. Pushing Flash based apps development for the Palm webOS is a good move from both Adobe and Palm.
