Just yesterday Archos finally launched the Child Pad Android tablet after months since its initial announcement. Well if such child-friendly tablets sounds like a great piece of tech you wouldn’t mind introducing to your family, Techno Source has announced that its own tablet, the Kurio7, is currently up for pre-order via Toys R Us online. Dubbed as the “ultimate tablet for families”, the Kurio7 is a 7” tablet with Android 4.0 and comes with some pretty modest specs under the hood, although there are some features of the device that might make it a bit more appealing that the Archos Child Pad depending on the user.

While it does come with a suite of apps designed for kids, there are some other apps that grownups like ourselves might find entertaining. This includes apps like Fruit Ninja, World of Goo, Cut the Rope, Doodle Jump and even Angry Birds! It also comes with eight different login profiles, therefore allowing parents to set profiles for their kids and restrict the sort of content they will be able to access to on the internet. Sounds like a great idea, doesn’t it?

As far as its specs are concerned, like we said the Kurio7 will sport a 7” display with Android 4.0 on board. It will also pack a 1GHz single-core processor under its hood accompanied by 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, USB ports and a VGA front-facing camera. If you’re interested in placing your pre-order, head on over to Toys R Us’ website where you will be able to pre-order one for $199.99, or pop on over to the Kurio website for the details.
