The folks over at BGR claimed to have exclusively learned about HTC’s plans to unveil several new WP7 phones at an upcoming event next Thursday (September 1st) in a public event in that will be held in Victoria House, London.

08/17/2011, The success of iOS and Android in the smartphone platform market cannot be 100% attributed to their hardware. iOS not withstanding, Android has plenty of budget devices that feature specs that aren’t exactly the most groundbreaking, but at the same time leaving other platforms such as Windows Phone 7, Blackberry OS and webOS choking on the dust.
08/16/2011, Wow, it looks like Windows Phone users won’t have to fork out money to use premium versions of music-recognition apps like Shazam in the future. The Mango update to Windows Phone 7 eschews the need for such apps, since the new Bing has a feature called audio search that does the same thing.

08/12/2011, We all probably know by now that Nokia will be releasing a series of Windows Phone 7 based smartphones. For those who are unfamiliar, Nokia has dropped Symbian and MeeGo platforms in favor of Windows Phone 7. Their reason behind this is because according to an email supposedly by Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop, carriers prefer Windows Phone 7 over Symbian or MeeGo.
08/12/2011, Rumor has it that Nokia will begin to receive its first batch of Windows Phone 7-powered devices when September rolls around – according to media in Taiwan, of course. Local contractor and regular Nokia supplier Compal is touted to ship a cool 2 million of such smartphones in time for fall, and this nugget of information came from local investment firm worker and former tech journalist Dan Nystedt.

However it wasn’t officially mentioned by Skype or Microsoft until recently when Skype’s Vice President, Neil Stevens said that the company is planning to create something unique for the Windows Phone operating system.
