Samsung SCH i760 svelte and sexy
Posted on: January 07, 2007
CES Unveiled - Samsung's SCH i760 is guaranteed to thrill those who are looking for a compact cellphone that offers 3G functionality along with a host of other multimedia features. This new handset comes with a QWERTY keyboard when you slide the cellphone open, while retaining the numeric keypad on the outside. There is a Click Wheel-like navigation method employed on the front as well. Too bad the unit on display was missing its battery much to our chagrin. Slim is in, and the Samsung SCH i760 definitely eschews that motto. According to the representative, pricing and availability details are currently unknown. Do enjoy a video of it in action after the jump.

Having now owned this device for four weeks or so, it is without doubt the single best electronics investment I've ever made. It performs nearly flawlessly in every respect. If it had instantaneous orientation rotation when the slider is deployed and was a little less easy to hit the side buttons when removing it from my holster, I'd describe it as absolutely flawless. The thing is a monster, and any aesthetic differences you have with the front will be eradicated once you realize how INVALUABLE that keypad layout is. I don't think there's a key on the thing I don't use. Intuitive, powerful, fantastic battery life, great ergonomics, very solidly built... I love the thing. Vastly superior to Treo, vastly superior to xv6800, leaves Voyager clinging to a heart monitor. Have never used and iPhone, but believe I'd be very challenged to be more impressed than with this Samsung. I ADORE it, and I'm glad all the research paid off.

This is my first pda and I am glad that I spent the extra money to get it. It is amazing. What I love about is the fact that you can see your whole days schedule right in front of you when you wake up. If you want to make a change to your schedule just hit the touch screen and make the changes needed. Also the internet speed is amazingly fast and the quality of the pictures on the internet is fantastic. For those who have it check out the picsel browser. This browser is like the i phone browser, this will allow you to view your pictures on the screen, use your finger to scroll up and down, and again the resolution on the screen is amazing. The other great thing I love about this pda is the qwerty board. On the surface this may not seem like a big deal but it really is in real life. When you have to type out a quick response all you have to do is slide the phone up and type. I have got to the point were I don't even have to look at the keyboard to type. I would definitely recommend this pda to anyone.

I just got my samsung I760. I had the motorla Q for 2 yrs. I preferr the samsung I 760. The key board is a little bigger & easier to use. The touch screen is quicker! I just touch & go. No scroll up, over, down & back....just tap & go. Internet loads & runs quicker. The touch screen can be locked & unlocked to. My husbands palm trio doesn't even do that...he has "accidently" called several people. The speaker phone is to loud! But it does have a volume controll button. Big improvement on the camera! Better picture quality & more options. my Q beat my husbands palm trio. His trio freezes & you have to remove the battery to fix it. But this samsung really wips his trios butt! Jo Ps I have had verizon for 5 yrs & got the samsung for 342$

Only a 1.3 megapixel camera? 3.5 hours of talk time? No GPS, XM Radio, IM, vCard, Push-2-talk, and many other feature other Smartphones have. The AT&T Tilt is a MUCH better value for the bucks!

FUNCTIONALITY! This PDA has it all. Don't be so shallow in regards to the way it looks. It's all about what the SCH i760 can do that makes it so great. This is for the power user, not the pompous user.

it's a rule after one uses the word chagrin to include the word eschews within 2 following sentences, in proper context or not. i personally would like to have seen a few wax-and-wanes, and maybe eclectic or synergy bouncing around.
irt to the phone, design vs. functionality. this looks to be a very capable business and entertainment device. the pretty, shiny iphone fails as a business tool. better to have a tool than to be one.

I am appalled at the negativity towards this mobile wonder. In the words of the Mobile Industry, "This phone is a great alterantive to the iPhone".

It is indeed Bland, looks kinda out of place with everything that is around in the market.

I don't think you meant to use the word 'eschews' the way you did. In fact, the word means the opposite of what I believe you intended.
