Intel could offer 45nm chips for UMPCs

Intel recently dropped a ball stating that they will be working on a new version of processors based on the 45nm process especially for the Ultra Mobile PC (UMPC) market in addition to the current research on 45nm desktop processors. While nothing concrete is confirmed, those who are out of the loop are speculating as to whether this new UMPC-centric processor is actually the Perryville chip - a single core version of the Penryn processor. As with all other rumors, there is no better way to confirm/squash them than wait it out. And waiting is exactly what we'll do until newer information arrives.
