Japan is one country where terrestril digital broadcasting is taking off at a fast rate, fueling demand for full HD (1080p) LCD TVs and HD recorders. The GH04P21A2G blue-violet laser has a purported service life of 10,000 hours for those who want to know more. Sharp claims that they will develop diodes that support burning speeds of 10X by 2009.
