LED hourglass now in 3D

Dhananjay Gadre and Anurag Chugh have successfully developed a LED hourglass that brings a new twist to an old device. The LEDs were ingeniously arranged in a circular, conical fashion to play the part of an hourglass' glass parts, giving the entire setup a 3D appearance. The inclusion of the Z-axis accelerometer enables it to detech the orientation of the hourglass, lighting up the designated LEDs at the beginning of a measurement cycle. You just gotta hand these guys credit for geeking out something so ordinary.
