Microscopy Table for the living room
Posted on: March 21, 2007

We all know the drill when it comes to a magnifying glass - anything underneath will automagically look much larger, but the Microscopy Table designed by Vakahn Matossian takes a different route, where the pane of glass in the middle is actually a screen for magnifying whatever items (organic or not, it doesn't matter) you place at a special 'hot spot' corner by a factor of 40. I can imagine the family having a fun time examining up close all the everyday items around the house, but one thing that bugs me is the power cord that snakes out of the table leg. Perhaps using a rechargeable battery solution would be a better solution, but it looks as though we will have to put the offending leg in a corner now.

I am thinking that the cord is in the picture for added ____________ (something to make it look more than just a table, just for it's appearance in ads....>>?? Otherwise it almost would seem pointless to even post a picture because other than that wire, it would look like any ol' end-table with an ash tray in the middle> ;) )
Main reason I say this, is because a company interested in incorporating a Microscope into everyday household furnishings, would not put a funky, coiled-phone-cord-style -> RED_ cord on that more-so ... (nice?) whatever_ beige colored table, and as if THAT wouldn't be Retarded enough, they have it connected in such a way that it is coming out to MAKE SURE that it is noticeable in the open space right in the middle underneath the table>?!!
Can't really be like that, right? I mean it's like they're making sure there will be no way to easily hide/cover it up> AT ALL!. First, they could easily make it white or off-white to more-so match the table, but okay, say it HAD to be red, well not only is there going to be some showing nomatter what due to position it is mounted and comes off of the leg, as cleanly as you can get it (bent-like) turned back around, you still after all said and done will not be able to make it run flush with the edge of anything/ nor- wrap around anything Neatly because it is a Coiled cord, which if u can deal with all of that nonsense, still is going to eventually end up looking like all your old coiled telephone cords that acted like long-rubber-slinkys when all of the sudden- one loop was looing just....off!!
Sorry, I was half just sharing my observations on the thing, and half writing directly to the company that's going to be putting these out on market , just so they KNOW what the failures would be already, if this is indeed the case! ;)
