Memorex Air Dusters feature bitterant
Memorex has just dropped a new model of its Air Duster line of compressed gas cleaners which was specially designed to combat the "huffing" scourge which is affecting our youth of today who are in search for cheap thrills and highs. Each can now comes with an additive known as bitterant, making the contents extremely unpleasant to inhale. If you have teens in your house and want to do your part to prevent them from thinking that "huffing" is a fun thing to do, getting Memorex Air Dusters is but a small step. Just remember that that cannot be substituted with education and a close, healthy bond with your child.

This is no more than a pest. If you huff it, this will do nothing. But I dusted my keyboard with something similar and for a day and a half everything that I touched tasted disgusting, well it discouraged me from bitting my nails anyways.

the worst thing about bitterant is that when you clean your keyboards or are cleaning with it and it gets on ur fingers and then you lick your finger or eat some food it tastes horrible. for those of us that dont huff it is not a very good option, also I do not think this will discourage huffers at all as they find ways around it (like those mentioned in previous posts).

I hate the taste left from the bitterant in Dust-Off, but I can get by it. Just quickly drink some strong-tasting soda or eat something with a strong taste, like sharp cheese. It's a stupid decision that affects everyone, the huffers will ignore it, and the honest users will have bitter crap on their keyboards.

Huffing isn't killing kids. Kids are killing themselves. Put the blame where it belongs, with the idiots who are doing it.

1st off all you people who huff and are making it out to be a joke good luck. your next huff could be your last. 2nd the bitterent isn't going to stop this from being abused. abusers will find a way to get past it. and everyone who want to blame losing a loved one from huffing on "bad parenting" can forget that.
on 12/24/06 i lost my 17 yr old son because of using the 3m "air duster" product. we don't have it in our house and have never used any form of dust remover. according to his friends he only did it a few times. they all purchased it at walmart.
all i know it is a major problem and it is killing our kids, more every year. our family gets to spend the rest of our christmases not with joy and happiness, but sadness and memories of my son.
it is no joke. i hope none of you have to go through what me, my wife, and our 2 other kids have went through. his 12 yr old brother found him, my wife preformed cpr on him, and our last visual of him was in a hospital bed with tubes and machines. how is that for a memory?
everyone who huffs good luck. before you do it tell your family you love them. it could be the last time you do.

I have two teenage daughters that have now just decided that this would be really cool. They take a towel and blow this product to take the bitterent out of it before they do this. Just beware and I have removed all of the aerosols in my house now because of this.

well all these retards are stupid. if stupid poeple want to huff that s**t just to be high for 5 seconds then let them . cause if they want it bitterant isn't going to stop them . so i think that adding that s**t is the stupidest thing i've ever heard. i smoke weed and if they started put s**t likein my weed i would still smokeit . so what do u think the kids who are huffing this are going to do. if someone wants to get high theres nothing anyone can do to stop them .

i got falcon dust-off and it says it has bitterant to prevent inhalant abuse, and im like wtf is that? so i searched it and found out its an additive that is supposed to make it smell and taste horrible to act as a deterrant from huffing, well, i just smelled it (not to get high but to just see what it smells like), and its not so bad, its just like gasoline, some ppl hate the smell and some ppl like it... now i have a habbit of chewing as well so i was chewing on the little red straw thingy while watching tv, and yeah the stuff taste like crap... but it doesnt smell so bad.

This bitterant stuff really sucks. I just cleaned my keyboard and mouse out, and went to go eat a slice of that cold pizza i've been eating since last night... when I got to eating the crust, I noticed it tasted like CRAP! Then I realized my hands were probably covered with the stuff... I licked my fingers, they tasted horribly bitter, confirming my suspicions. I've tried washing my hands but apparently soap alone doesn't do the trick, only after LOTS of scrubbing have I been able to get this stuff off my hands. Delayed my dinner, and now everytime I use my computer I have to scrub my hands! Thanks, geniuses.

the problem exsists...wheather we want to acknowledge it or not.. education about this kind of DRUG abuse is the only way to make a difference if it is not "canned air" it will be something else, parents and other adults need to know that the problem is there so we can make informed choices about the stuff we put in our houses.

You cannot use compressed air to clean electronics. Compressed air as well as CO2 are ionizable. it means it can carry electrons that may fry the equipment. "Canned Air" is non-ionizable, hence it is used for electronics. Bittergent may be the only thing besides GOOD PARENTING/COMMON SENSE that may help...god help our stupid children.

From my understanding, the "bitterant" does very little to deter "huffing" as other users have described it as nothing really.

It might be worth noting that, if "AirDuster" were really compressed air and not some strange volatile chemical, you wouldn't be able to get high from inhaling it...

'bout time... "bitterrent" has has been added to other brands for about a year now. I can't remember the brand, but it was sold at walmart over a year ago.
