Sony PSP gets Go!Messenger

Sony has upped the ante when it comes to functionality of its PSP console, bringing Go!Messenger to the fore that empowers users with text, voice, and video chat capabilities. While chatting with your friends using MSN Messenger and the on-screen keyboard might be excruciatingly slow, there is always the option to use VoIP functionality over a WiFi network. After all, it sure beats navigating through the on-screen keyboard taking all 10 minutes to type out a sentence. Go!Messenger is free for all Sony PSP owners and comes with the next firmware upgrade.

So many questions, so little time. If you already have go! installed and working, you can add me if you like "exmortus".
If not and you have questions, here ya go:
1. rumor has it, Go! Messenger is coming out for US in version 4 of the firmware.
2. If you want it now, and you don't see it on your PSP running firmware 3.9 (it might go back as far as 3.71), then you are in an unsupported country or on an unsupported PSP. You can only get it working if you are NOT running official Sony firmware. This means, you MUST run Custom Firmware (CFW). If you are running custom firmware 3.90 m33-2 (only one I tested with) then you can get it to work my changing your PSP region to Europe. Once you do that and reboot, WHAMO! it appears like magic in the XMB inder internet.
3. Yes it works on both PSP models. Skype only works on SLIM.
I say be patient and wait for Sony to give it to you. Or you can g**gle info on downgrading/unbricking any PSP, upgrading to Dark Alex's CFW 3,90 M33-2, changing your region and getting it now.
When you register, the US is not listed, you have to choose UK or something that is listed.

need to have custom firmware 3.80 m33 or 3.90 m33 and set fake region to europe then download go messenger to your psp then copy fiolder insde the app folder then paste to your psp game folder

Okay guys heres the thing. Go! Messenger is released ONLY in Europe. That means that North American users DO NOT have access to this application at this time (Except M33 users - Go D_A). Go! Messenger, or some other form of it, is going to be released for the 4.00 firmware release, in North American regions.

you can get it from your psp internet by going to this site. www.pspdemocenter.com when you are there click downloads then click apps then click go messenger and download. ' please not you have to do this on the psp not on the computer' after you download exit out of internet and go to games and scrooll to the bottom and click memory card it sould be there. and then you just fire it up!

y would you need a different firmware for this. i think all you have to do is download the program in your memory stick when it becomes available. Creating a new firmware just for this is not necessary. i've read a lot of posts about the new fw 4.00. It doesnt make sense to create one. The icons are already there in the XMB.

You CAN use this with altered (custom) firmware. Custom firmware is just the original sony firmware moddified to allow homebrew. The only restriction that I have heard so far is that it might only be released for EU region PSP's.. if this is the case everyone else will HAVE to have custom firmware. Custom firmware will allow non EU PSP owners to fake their region code to EU and allow the use of the software.
