Treo 500v introduced officially
Sep 12, 07 09:05 AM PDT

It’s official, Palm has just introduced the Treo 500v in Europe. It’s 3G phone that’s unfortunately a little larger and heavier than the Samsung Blackjack (review). The Treo 500v offers a cute design (I really like it) and Windows Mobile 6 Standard Edition, but is fundamentally not very different from other Windows Mobile phones.
If the Treo 500v was smaller and thinner, it would be a really sexy smartphone, but it’s not. I also regret that the space occupied by the Call/Hang-up/Home/Back/Menu buttons is so big. Microsoft is to blame for requiring hardware buttons and Palm for designing such needlessly large ones.

It is deceptively nice! I'm very disappointed with it and Vodafone Italy, where I bought it. The phone drains almost all the battery so that in the evening it's dead most of the times. The software is slow and uneasy, even the sinplest thing, like to open a new word file is complicated. It will remain my last Palm!!.
