i-mate Ultimate 8502 Hands-On
Posted on Oct 23, 07 01:51 AM PDT

We had the opportunity to play with the Ultimate 8502 from i-mate, here are the highlights:
- Windows Mobile 6 Pro
- Top-notch connectivity (WiFi, 3.5G)
- Integrated GPS
- Powerful chips: 520Mhz processor, NVIDIA Graphics
- 2.6” QVGA (320x240) touch display
The display is much larger when compared to a Samsung Blackjack (read review), which is great, but the keyboard is less roomy. I thought that the i-mate’s 8502 keyboard was tight but “OK”, however several people around complained about it – big fingers, you’ve been warned! One thing that we agreed on was the “click” of the keyboard was very nice. Complete specs, i-mate site

Nice phone but beware if you damage it. I cracked the touch screen on the phone walking past a table. The local repairs for imate wanted $375 to repair it. Why? because imate combined the touchscreen and LCD in one so it now costs $375 to repair a touch screen that costs $20. www.imatesucks.com

Hi! You write 8502, but the specs you have published is not of 8502, but 6150/8150. 8502 and 9502 uses Qualcomm 400MHz with integrated GFX Accelerator. They also have GPS, and HSDPA + HSUPA!! What is correct is that 8502 is having QVGA 2.6" screen..but the 3 other Ultimate models uses VGA. All have TV Out. The keyboard is excellent on the 8502!! It can look strange and uncomfortable, but is perfect!
