Nokia Phones to capture HD Video in 2 years

That’s according to Nokia’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Tero Ojanpera in a Reuters interview.
First, Tero Ojanpera needs to define what he means by “HD” - Is it 720p*, 1080p* or something else? It is safe to assume that phones will eventually be powerful enough and have enough storage to capture and store HD movies, even 1080p ones. Not only the question is “when” but most importantly “at which level of quality?”.
Just like for still photos, it is just impossible that a camera-phone can rival a D-SLR camera, simply because of the difference in size of their lenses. Bigger lens = more information = better picture. There’s little that computing power can do to help solve this.
*720p = 1280x720 pixels, *1080p = 1920x1080 pixels
