Yahoo! Rolls Out Fire Eagle

Yahoo! has announced the availability of Fire Eagle – essentially “an open platform that helps users take their location to the Web while giving them the ability to easily control how and where their location data is shared.” One neat aspect of this is allowing users to authorize Web, mobile or desktop applications to update their respective locations automatically or manually – it is their choice, along with the amount of information shared over the services. Services available from Fire Eagle can be read right after the jump in further detail. [Press Release]
