Archos To Offer Revolutionary Tablet

Archos is noted for their line of heavy hitting portable media players, and this time round we have word that they will be rolling out a 17mm thick 9″ tablet in the 3rd quarter of 2009. It will be based on a similar Intel Atom Z5xx processor that is found in MIDs, and you can expect to see an on-screen keyboard and touch pointer mouse. In addition, the tablet will support handwriting recognition like all other good tablets should, tipping the scales at just 800 grams – lighter than any other netbook in the market. Surprisingly, it will include a hard drive (60GB to 160GB) and run on the Intel System Controller Hub. This mystery tablet will be out sometime next year – let’s hope the specifications won’t get obsolete by then.
