Nvidia ION Netbooks Coming in June
Posted on Apr 24, 09 11:09 AM PDT

Articles about one or more upcoming NVIDIA ION powered have popped up on the web, and we think that NVIDIA's partners will indeed show ION based Netbooks around that time frame. Why? That's part of the normal PC cycle. Netbook makers want to differentiate their product from the plain vanilla Intel-based offerings out there. Overall, Ion will provide them with much more graphics power muscle, especially when it comes to Video or even transposing. On the other hand, the power envelope and costs are expected to be comparable with current Netbooks. Looks like PC makers can buy Atom CPUs without an intel chipset after all.
