Aegis Padlock Secure Hard Drive

Apricorn has rolled out its Aegis Padlock Secure Hard Drive that comes with a keypad that enables one to key in custom PIN numbers before data within can be accessed. This helps prevent data theft should someone "stumble" upon your portable hard drive whether by accident or design. In addition, users will benefit from AES-128 or 256 bit encryption to keep things safe, while it remains connected to your machine through a USB 2.0 cable and is cross-platform compatible. An Administrator feature allows one to set up to ten user IDs and one administrator, offering a handful of people direct access to information on the system. Other features include a 16-point omnidirectional shock mounting system where it will come in 250GB, 320GB and 500GB storage capacities. Pricing differs when you choose 128-bit AES models as they will retail for $100, $110 and $140, respectively while the 256-bit AES models are a wee bit more expensive at $120, $130 and $160, respectively.
