LED-lighted plexiglass

If you’re all out of ideas (and money) for the upcoming holiday season, why not roll up those corporate sleeves and get down with some old-fashioned D.I.Y. project that will probably be of more value to the recipient than something purchased off the store shelf as an afterthought? You can now create your very own plexiglass that lights up – all you need to do is scrape a drawing with a dimmer time on one side of the plexiglass piece, make a tiny hole big enough to insert the LED in the edge underneath, and turn the light on. Do make sure you use a high performance LED and a resistor for the best results possible. The overall monetary cost for this project ought not to cross the $10 mark.
