This concept design could actually be the future of today’s compact digital cameras when you think about it. Matthias Lange’s FlapCam comes with all the usual trappings of a digital camera save for the clamshell design that helps protect both lens and display from the twin terrors that are dust and scratches. The design is reminiscent of the Nintendo DS – when closed, your lens and LC display remain safe and sound. In addition, it is also easier to snap self-portraits with the FlapCam due to its unique design. Are camera manufacturers taking note of this?
