Samsung to develop robotic guards

The South Korean government will be collaborating with Samsung when it comes to beefing up military bases as well as other strategic sites around the country with robotic guards. Although the idea of equipping robots with weapons that maim and kill can be pretty unnerving thanks to a healthy diet of sci-fi flicks which show how the robots revolted against their human masters, these robotic guards will most probably hold water cannons and tear gas guns at best. There is no word on whether these robots are authorized to take action against any intruders, or are they just relegated to being hi-tech alarms. Hopefully their neighbors up north won’t plan an invasion in order to capture and use this technology for their devious purposes.
