Voice2TXT from Alltel Wireless

Alltel Wireless has just launched a new service known as Voice2TXT, making it the first of the five largest US carriers to enable subscribers to receive voicemails in text form. Voice2TXT is now made available to just any Alltel Wireless SMS text message capable handset, converting incoming voicemails to text messages. I’m not sure how this technology has made provisions for l337 5p34k, but it would be apt to speculate that Voice2TXT supports only the English language at this point in time. In addition, Voice2TXT enables customers to store and forward converted voicemails as standard text messages along with the ability to retrieve the original voicemail. This unique service has been priced at $4.99 per month for 20 voicemail conversions (each additional is 25 cents); $9.99 per month for 50 conversions (each additional is 20 cents); and $19.99 per month for 100 conversions (each additional is 10 cents).
