Hitachi loves all things slim, as with majority of the geek world, hence the UltraThin 1.5 range of plasma displays. Measuring a mere 1.5″ in depth, you will get 50″ of viewing real estate, automatically elevating this unit to one of the largest UltraThin models available today. This marvel of engineering will be one of the main stars at the CEDIA Expo, and being a plasma display with that level of thickness is no mean feat, even for an LCD display. No word on pricing, but you can bet your bottom pixel that this will be one expensive model to bring home. Just make sure the kids stay away from the pigskin in the presence of the UltraThin 1.5, will you? [Press Release]
