What can you get for $169.99 these days? Well, the Alpha 400 MIPS netbook is certainly a viable candidate despite the rather slow processor that plods along at 400MHz. This is great if you want something extremely light and portable to perform the most basic Internet tasks such as surfing, blogging and checking out your bank balance online, but it certainly ain’t up to snuff when it comes to image processing and games. After all, there is only so much one can do with 128MB RAM, 1GB of flash memory and the Linux operating system, right? Unless the dollar appreciates by a whole lot, that’s about all the value you can squeeze out of its $169.99 price tag, 7″ display and all.
