Sanyo’s claim that the PLC-XF71 is the brightest projector in its category has some merit as most 10000 lumens projectors cost more than $30,000. The PLC-XF71 achieves that level of luminosity by using two lamps instead of one, but it has only a resolution of 1024×768 – which is below the 720p standard (1280×720). The contrast ratio of 3000:1 would come in handy in places where there is a lot of ambient light (hear meeting room). If it’s for the office, I wonder if a 61″ LCD TV would be “good enough”, but hey if you really want to project a larger picture or spend $17k, be my guest.
