Acer Tempo F900 Looks Like Omnia

[Mobile World Congress] The Acer Tempo F900 sure as heck resembles the Samsung Omnia in some ways from the front, with the full touchscreen display and all alongside touch sensitive buttons on the bottom row. It will utilize a widget-based home screen to make browsing and using the phone a snap, while the generous display is more than good enough for online surfing on-the-go. Let’s just get one thing straight – all Acer smartphones announced today will come with Windows Mobile 6.1, so forget about seeing all the wonders of version 6.5 for the moment unless Acer decides to release an upgrade. As for the remaining specifications of the Tempo F900 they are as follows :-

  • Genuine Windows Mobile 6.1
  • Samsung S3C 6400 mobile processor (533 MHz)
  • 128MB SDRAM 256MB flash memory
  • 3.8″ WVGA TFT LCD touch screen at 480x 800 resolution
  • microSD memory card slot
  • 3.0 megapixel camera with auto-focus
  • HSDPA/UMTS (2100/1900/850 MHz)
  • Quad-Band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz), EDGE, GPRS
  • 802.11b/g Wi-Fi CERTIFIED network connection
  • Bluetooth 2.0+EDR (Enhanced Data Rate)
  • GPS (SiRFstar III chipset)

No idea on how much it will cost though, so hopefully Acer gets the pricing right if they want to do well in this cut-throat market. [Product Page]
