Launched in October of last year, the Iomega StorCenter ix2 network attached storage (NAS) is getting an update. On the menu: the ability to download BitTorrent files, better Mac support (Apple File Protocol or AFP) and remote access. BitTorrent is supported by most devices in this category, but it’s a good addition as no one would prefer a PC to download that stuff. Remote access requires an dynamic domain name which costs $10/yr (the first year is free). It is now possible to impose storage quotas to ensure that all users get a fair share of the space.
