Pretec has just announced its latest creation, the super extraordinary 666X CF card that is touted to be the fastest of its kind in the world. It has four times the speed of a standard CF card, hitting a whopping 100MB/s, giving it the largest speed boost in CF history ever. Despite running at such high speeds, it comes with a metal housing for a rugged spin to it, making it resistant to impact and shock. Tests in the labs have shown it to be up to 10 times more durable compared to a standard CF card, making it the ideal storage format for photographers who often have to venture to less-than-ideal photography conditions in their line of work. There is no word on pricing, but it ought to start sampling from next month onwards in 4GB to 64GB capacities.
