Folks in the UK will be able to get their hands on yet another netbook model – this time round it will be the Freedom netbook from Zoostorm. Specifications remain the same as with many other older netbooks, relying on an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, an 8.9″ display at 1,024 x 600 resolution, 512MB RAM to crawl along with (upgradeable to 1GB) and a measly 8GB SSD. Guess you’d best bring a portable hard drive to go along with it. This netbook also features a built-in VGA webcam, Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, a VGA port, headphone jack and a couple of USB ports. Battery life has been rated at 4.5 hours, but we expect real world performance to dip more than that. Nice to see Zoostorm throw in PCI Express Mini Card slots – these’d be useful to introduce components like a 3G modem in the future. You can pick up the Zoostorm Freedom for £239.99.
