Philips has a couple of new handsets coming our way in the form of the C600 and the W186. The former will play nice on tri-band GSM networks (900/1800/1900 MHz) and CDMA 800MHz, where it features a couple of call keys – one for GSM while the other is for CDMA. Apart from that, don’t expect anything radical in terms of features that comprise of a 2.4″ touchscreen QVGA display, MP3 playback, a 1.3-megapixel camera and a microSD memory card slot to augment the pitiful 2.5MB internal memory. As for the Philips W186, this handset will be slightly beefier with the following :-
- Tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz)
- Dual-band UMTS (850/2100 MHz) connectivity with HSDPA support
- 2″ TFT display with 176 x 220 pixels
- 2-megapixel camera with video recording
- Bluetooth with A2DP connectivity
- Integrated FM radio
- 150MB internal memory
- microSD memory card slot
There is no word on pricing for either handset as at press time.
