Acer has installed Android on its Aspire One D250, a model that has been out for months. From Android, it is also possible to boot to Windows 7 via a “switch OS” function. Weirdly enough, there’s no way to boot directly to Windows 7, although Acer argues that Android’s boot is “instant” (none of the Linux stuff boots “instantly”, as it can take 30 seconds to 1mn). That comment from Acer really positions Android against Splashtop, another quickboot application against which Android would have an edge because it has more apps.
