Barnes & Noble Launches Its iPad App

Barnes and Noble might be a little late into the iPad game, as Amazon already has its Kindle for iPad app, but it’s better late than never, right? iPad owners are now able to download the Barnes & Noble (BN) eReader for iPad for free. This app allows iPad owners to access the eBook store directly from their iPad and even continue reading where you last left off. Another cool feature of this app is the ability to lend certain eBooks to your friends for a 14-day period. We’d actually prefer to be able to loan it for a month, but we’re not complaining. Other features include:

  • Eight typefaces and five text sizes
  • Choice of colors for text, pages, highlights and links
  • Library Grid and Library List views
  • LendMe feature
  • Margin and spacing customization
  • eBooks and most periodicals purchased through the BN eBookstore are accessible on your iPad
  • Built-in dictionary
  • Google and Wikipedia integration for quick search of terms and words
