Qualcomm is currently working with companies such as CARDIONET, resulting in the Piix Smart BandAid that is touted to offer the next-generation ambulatory cardiac monitoring service complete with beat-to-beat, real time analysis, automatic arrhythmia detection and wireless ECG transmission. The bandaid comes with sensors within which can also be specially modified to monitor a range of tasks as required, letting one benefit from a comprehensive suite of post-symptom, looping, and auto trigger event monitors, considering it is part of the larger turn-key cardiac event monitoring eco-system. Wireless connectivity has certainly come a long way, and hopefully the Piix will be reasonably priced when approved for use by the masses considering there are so many more poor people out there who can’t afford proper medical care and attention.
