Some devices might not serve any real purpose other than to entertain you, and we’ve got no objections to that. We’re talking about the Slink-O-Matic which only goal is to keep a Slinky going indefinitely. In the video (after the jump), you’ll see the Slinky being shifted from side to side without the need of your two hands or a staircase. According to the creator, it does have a hidden benefit of being able to help the user determine if they’re in the northern or southern hemisphere, as Coriolis forces it to slink from right to left in the northern hemisphere, and left to right in the southern hemisphere.
