Suzette Chatbot Managed To Convince An Expert That She Was Human

Remember the earlier article about a robot that looks very realistic? Well, what if said robot could converse with you and fool you into thinking that it’s human? You might want to check out Suzette, a chatbot that took part in a version of the Turing Test and managed to convince a human judge that it was a human, winning the Loebner Prize and netting its creator a $3,000 prize in the process. The judge chats with both a human and machine about a few subjects and after 25 minutes will have to pick which one is the bot. Apparently the secret to fooling the judge was the bot’s ability to divert the conversation away from subjects that it couldn’t keep up in, staying in its comfort zone. Robotics sure is getting scary…
