Teachscape Reflect Allows Educators To See It All And Review Their Classroom Lessons

This might seem a little Big Brother in the classroom to you, but Teachscape has launched the Teachscape Reflect, a tool developed for educators that will offer 360-degree video capture hardware and online software to provide teachers with a panoramic view of their classroom to help them reflect on their teaching, share instructional practices, and receive coaching support. The hardware includes a low-profile lightweight device that combines two high-definition video cameras and two high-quality wireless microphones to provide the 360-degree view and also capture audio from both teacher and students. Video footage is then uploaded to Teachscape’s site, allowing educators to view, comment, and share their classroom experiences. Of the two cameras, the panoramic camera is capable of capturing 1080p videos, while the other is capable of handling 720p videos. The complete Teachscape Reflect system will be available for purchase in October 2010 and will begin to ship in December 2010.
