You might not have heard of the name Toppan Printing before, but after reading this, you might not get enough of the company if going green is your thing. This major printing company from Japan rolled out the Tane-Kamicard, an environmentally friendly biodegradable card that has some seeds embedded within, allowing you to plant it later to spruce up your garden back home. For those who do not know what Tane-Kamicard means, Tane stands for seed and Kami for paper, where it is 100% degradable. It isn’t exactly new, as it has been in action since 2009. Toppan is currently planning to have the Tane-Kamicard concept see action for use in cell phone SIM cards – not to mention other gift cards. Sounds like a pretty interesting way of bringing some green to the world of tech.
