Toshiba has been fairly late to the all-in-one game, but when they introduced the 21.5″ Toshiba Dynabook Qosmio DX in Japan last summer, they created a quality product that seems to be doing well in the land of the rising sun (the build quality is very good from what we’ve seen). Now, Toshiba is looking at launching this all-in-one in the U.S market (and elsewhere), possibly under a different name. At this point, the naming and positioning have not been publicly formulated (Qosmio tends to be associated only with “gaming” outside of Japan), but things should start rolling soon.

Expect the specifications to change to reflect progress made with PC components, but when the Dynabook launched in Japan, it had a full-HD (1980×1020, with HDMI input) display and a mid-range Core i5-450M processor, 4GB of RAM and 1TB of disk storage. It is logical to think that the “Spirit” of the Qosmio DX will be preserved. The pricing in Japan was about $2200, which is a bit high, but the Yen is strong, so let’s wait for the official price.
