Remember the March earthquake and tsunami that devastated a nuclear reactor in Japan, causing entire villages to disappear and generally causing panic, shock, grief and disbelief worldwide? Well, the Japanese are on their way to recovering (although it is a slow and long road ahead), and being famous for their courtesy, it is a no brainer that a new campaign website that was developed by an anonymous non-profit organization is used to express Japan’s gratitude towards everyone around the world for their kind contributions, be it in money or in kind. Known as “Arigato From JP”, this web project will involve a collection of user generated 3-5 second “thank you” clips from folks living in the Land of the Rising Sun.

The site will also hold a list for those who love digesting data – the list there shows off other countries as well as the forms of contribution made. With more than 120 countries to choose from, the site will educate you on saying “thank you” in that country’s language. Neat, no? Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside to know that humanity has not lost its conscience and spirit.
