Some e-book readers do have backlighting, but what about those that rely on E Ink technology? Well, it takes a third party manufacturer to “fix” this issue, where Flex Lighting intends to deliver night time reading to e-book readers, through the installation of a thin LED light film plastered on top of the e-book reader display. Color us impressed with the video after the jump, where it certainly makes it more enticing to jump into bed after a long, hard day at work, with a good e-book in hand while you flip through page after page to escape into a world of fiction. Flex Lighting’s solution is very energy efficient, since it is super thin and uses but a single LED – reminding me of the early Afterburner mods that went around to cater for the Game Boy Advance before the GBA SP came along.
