Archos G9 Turbo tablets now shipping with Android 4.0 preinstalled If you’ve been eyeing the Archos series of G9 Turbo Android tablets, you’ll be pleased to learn that Archos will now be shipping both the Archos 80 G9 Turbo and 101 G9 Turbo with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box. This means that you will not have to wait for the update or have to manually install it for yourself, which we guess in a way is a convenience for you.

For those unfamiliar, the Archos G9 Turbo series of Android tablets are basically slightly souped up versions of the G9 tablets, seeing a boost in processor speed to 1.5GHz. If you’re interested in getting your hands on the Android 4.0 ready tablets, you will be able to order them from Archos’ website, with the 80 G9 Turbo starting at £199.98, and the 101 G9 Turbo at £249.98.

Android: Android is the mobile operating system from Google. The software was originally built by a company called Android Inc, that was purchased by Google in 2005. From its modest debuts, Android has become a powerhouse that powers not only smartphones and tablet, but a host of other less high-profile devices and gadgets. Archos: Archos is a French consumer electronics company that manufactures tablets, eReaders, MP3 players, media players, and notebooks. The company once manufactured portable storage devices, digital camcorders, and portable computers. It was founded in 1988 by Henri Crohas. Popular products include the Archos 9 PC Tablet, the Archos 133 PC 13.3-inch netbook, the Archos 5 Internet tablet, and the Archos 8 home tablet. Archos is also famous for its Arnova series.
