How many of your homes have a dedicated landline? I would assume that the general worldwide trend would show that the use of landlines are in decline, especially when mobile phones have gotten so affordable these days (am not talking about smartphones here, they are a different can of worms altogether). Well, for those of us who happen to have our smartphone or mobile phone line blocked for one reason or another, here is a lifeline – the public phone booth.

Designs of the standard phone booth have been pretty much boring all these years, but Carla Pires de Carvalho Fernandes of Sao Paulo, Brazil, has come up with something slightly different and creative – she has turned the city’s pay phone booths to feature phone hoods that come in the shape of a brain. This would definitely throw aliens from Mars off the track if they happen to land on Sao Paulo first, and will be scared back home to the Red Planet upon seeing the kind of brain size that we have. After all, their mommas told them not to mess around with folks smarter than they are.
