Sony Online Entertainment has just released the official trailer of PlanetSide 2. If you are not familiar with the game, PlanetSide is a massively multiplayer online game that was released in 2003. The game happens on a planet called Auraxis where three factions fight for control of the land. The game itself happens in first-person view and combines FPS action elements with high-level strategy as well, although most people may simply perceive it as an online FPS. Hundreds of players can be on the battlefield at the same time.
Obviously, PlanetSide 2 is a sequel, and this is part of the early unveil that SOE has put out. The game looks better (to be clear: this movie is not rendered with the game engine), and there’s a new storyline written by author Marv Wolfman.
