kindle-origami-newSo, has all of the news concerning the new Kindle Fire HD as well as the Kindle Fire HDX sunk in just yet? When it comes to protection for your spanking new tablets, I would say the same principle applies as you would for a smartphone – always get it a sleeve or a case for added protection. After all, you can never quite tell just when are you going to end up with an accidental knock, drop, or scratch, do you? Well, we are pleased to announce that Amazon has not forgotten that little detail (not to mention that it is also an opportunity for them to rake in more money through the sales of accessories for that matter), with the introduction of a new Origami cover.

This particular case is up for pre-order just like the tablets themselves, and they will begin to ship at the same time as that of the respective tablets. Each of the new Origami cases will feature built-in magnets that would enable them to fold together in a manner so that the tablets are able to be positioned in either landscape or portrait modes. There is a 8.9” Origami version which has a feature that will trigger the photo app whenever the cover is slid down on the slate. Depending on the type and model, these new Origami covers will retail from $45 all the way to $70.
