sony-ps4-revealed-novemberThe Sony PS4 might have lost out to the Xbox One in the U.S. based on the number of “Likes” on Facebook, which is not exactly the most empirical and scientific method to determine the widespread popularity of a particular product, but I am quite sure that Sony executives are not sweating over that report since hard sales figures would tell a better story in the long run. Just in case you happen to own the Sony PS4 and have not gotten enough of this console, you will be pleased to hear that there is a new 1.72 firmware update which is ready for download. Oh yeah, for PS3 owners who have yet to make the jump, fret not, there is a little something for you as well in the form of its 4.60 firmware update.

This particular bit of information was confirmed via Sony’s Twitter feed as you can check out below.

It is widely expected that the Sony PS4 would be on the receiving end of additional and more substantial updates in due time, considering how Sony Worldwide President Shuhei Yoshida’s confirmation that the features announced in February earlier this year have yet to make their way to the masses. Basically, the 1.72 and 4.60 firmware updates for the Sony PS4 and PS3, respectively, will bring along with them an improvement to software stability when certain features are used.
