evleaksIn the past when it came to leaks about upcoming devices, photos, release dates, and etc., there was one person who was reliable enough to provide that information – @evleaks. We have credited Evan Blass (his real name) many times in the past but it seems that if you guys were hoping to hear more reliable leaks from Blass in the future, you are going to be disappointed.

Blass has recently posted on Twitter that he will be retiring. He wrote, “All good things must come to an end. Thank you for an amazing two years. [RETIREMENT]” Speaking to The Next Web, Blass revealed that one of the main reasons is because while he did have fun sharing leaks with everyone, it came down to money.

Due to the fact that unlike websites where you could insert ads, you can’t really do that on Twitter. You might have realized that recently he launched a website to help counter that, but apparently due to the fact that most leaks are on Twitter, there was little incentive to visit his blog, that and the fact that most of his audience seems to be users of AdBlock, which kind of defeats the purpose of ads.

According to Blass, “It all adds up to an unsustainable living, and and with a progressively worsening disease [Blass was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis], I need to make sure I can prepare myself better for the future, financially.” Well we’d like to wish him all the best for the future, and thanks for all the awesome leaks in the past!
