apple logoLove or hate Apple, it’s hard to deny that they have somehow worked their way into pop culture these days, such as movies, TV shows, and even cartoons where smartphones and tablets appear to be based on the iPhone and iPad, or at least a parody version of it. Now a few weeks ago, Apple managed to snag the title of being the coolest brand, but what about in terms of being the best brand?

Well according to Interbrand who has recently released their Best Global Brands rankings for 2014, it looks like Apple has managed to nab the top spot as well. The Cupertino company is currently valued at a whopping $118.9 billion putting it at the top of the list. This is followed by Google who comes in second at a valuation of $107 billion.

There are other tech companies that made the list as well, such as IBM who came in fourth place, Microsoft in fifth, Samsung in seventh, and Intel in twelfth place, just to name a few. It seems that these tech companies have managed to beat out the likes of entertainment giants such as Disney and MTV, as well as car manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz and BMW, who came in tenth and eleventh respectively.

While there is some subjectivity involved in choosing these brands’ rankings, Interbrand is boasting that their methodology is the first of its kind to be certified by the International Organization of Standardization, which is saying a lot, but what do you guys think? Does Apple deserve that number one spot?
