ps4If you happen to be rocking to a Sony PS4 as the video game console of your choice, be prepared to sit down and take a deep breath, since this bit of news might be deemed to be “sad” to certain quarters out there. Apparently, the spanking new “virtual-couch” feature that Sony introduced to be part of the most recent update for the PS4 will not play nice with the most recent Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare title, as we have reported earlier today. The thing is, this is not limited to just Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, since all game developers will be able to yield such authority in the future.

For instance, those who have tried it with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will see the guest’s screen show the following, “This host’s game screen is not displayed because the current scene is a blocked scene for Share Play. Wait until the blocked scene is finished.” The thing is, the entire game itself has been flagged as a “blocked scene”, so you know the drill from there.

Apparently, this feature was designed to make sure that select elements within a game, such as the licensed tunes from NBA 2K14 might be blocked. Activision, however, looks as though they intend to be the first off the blocks to block off the whole game. Apart from that, Activision did mention that SharePlay might not be blocked forever, so there is some light at the end of the proverbial tunnel after all.
