It seems that US mobile carrier Ting intends to offer GSM service some time next year – alongside CDMA connectivity, to boot. Have you heard about Ting before? Ting happens to be a US wireless carrier which will allow one to create one’s very own plan – and this is done by picking just how much data, voice, and text that you would like to enjoy. This will eventually result in a far lower number of phone bills compared to what you would enjoy with its competitors – at least this is what Ting claims.

After all, there is nothing quite like having a way to customize the way that you would make use of your smartphone – for instance, if you do not talk too much on your smartphone, but do handle plenty of text messages and yet do not make use of plenty of data, then Ting might be deemed to be the ideal mobile carrier. However, there is one Achilles Heel in the entire plan – which would be its coverage – or rather, the lack of it. After all, Ting does piggyback on Sprint’s CDMA network, and if Sprint does not have enough coverage at that particular area, then Ting too, would lose out on this.

Expect Ting to make good on their word from February next year onward, as Ting would also enable you to bring your own phone to the service.
